The LDV Vans kit was disgusting. The ugly sponsor Logo just completely ruined the home kit, and the away kit had a diagonal stripe that made it look like you were wearing a pack of silk cut cigarettes. Not liking the green and black Muller kit is disgraceful. Cult Classic kit from a great team. Shame on you.

Newcastle fan here. I completely agree that injuries hampered us last season no doubt, as they did other teams as well. However saying if we hadn't of dropped points against this team or that team etc is irrelevant. We did, Villa didn't. We are where we should be and they are where they should be, table doesn't lie. Now on the back of that, not being in Europe playing one game a week means to my mind that we should be challenging to get back into that top four. We have some excellent players and are likely to bring in a couple more despite all this talk about PSR. Villa will have a difficult task of managing their games next season no doubt. But that is exactly the kind of challenge that you want to have, because it is a product of progress. Emery is a top manager and Villa are a very good side. All you can do is take it one game at a time, there is no magic formula. Ill be rooting for you guys in the champions league, its nice to see things shaken up a bit!

I love how these rival fans think we achieved something based on how poor they were. Our season was disrupted before a ball was kicked with an ACL injury and we added two additional ACL's soon after to important players to go along with numerous other injuries that disrupted the team contineously! Also, most of our squad has Champions League experience from front to back: Martinez, Olsen, Digne, Pau, Diego Carlos, Kamara, Dendonker, Tielemans, Bailey, Diaby and the rest now have Conference League experience. In theory, our squad should be more adjusted and ready for Champions League football than Newcastle were.

This was an odd podcast.....as a NUFC fan I usually watch Andrew's EIB+W so it popped up on my algorithm! In all honesty, provided you maintain the same style & form, I think the competition new early stage format really suits Villa - from what I saw, last seasons Villa could beat absolutely anyone on the day so it's really 8 one-off games rather than a mini league - more like a classic cup knockout. It's difficult to make predictions too until the draw is made but like the PL, be prepared for the dice to be loaded in favour of bigger seeded clubs at absolutely every given opportunity, it's rotten to the core! One prediction I'm going to make now is don't expect any support from the PL if needed (fixtures etc.) during the campaign....lets be honest, the Cartel still don't want either of us within a million miles of the UCL & Daniel Levy is probably preparing more emails to Richard Masters as we speak. Genuine question here - when was Villa's last actual European campaign, were you in Europa league at all? Best of luck; I'd love nothing more than to see the pair of us up there in the PL next season at the expense of Chelsea, Spurs or Man Utd. Oh & the Douglas Luiz business was fkin disgusting tbh...being forced to sell your best player with the PL saying it's for the "protection & stability" of your club is beyond laughable. I wish they'd just be honest about their intentions for once - "It's to help Man Utd, Chelsea & Spurs make some more money for us in the far East" would be more accurate

Villa would’ve won the League if the it started and ended in 2023. We accumulated the most points during that year. Take out the injuries and 3 games a week then we’d have been in a title race man Newcastle r nowhere near our level.

English clubs were banned from Europe I think or it wasn’t the top-4 that qualified back then in the earlier 90’s when we were finishing 2nd and 4th.

Kamara out the 2nd half of the season. Torres and Cash missed a lot of games. 3 games a week til May with a decimated squad… I don’t see Newcastle as on our level.
